Story

I’ve never had to do this before, but I’m not sure what else to do at this point.  My husband and I for the last 5 years have been caring for our nieces and nephews who came under our guardianship in 2020 right when COVID started.  That same year my mother suffered a major heart attack and had bypass surgery and we moved her and my disabled and retired father up here to be closer to us so we could care for them as well.  During all this economic upheaval, we have also been assisting some of our siblings and other family members financially to keep them housed and fed.  Recently my husband has had some medical issues come up, and with all these new medical bills coming our way on top of everyone we care for, we are starting to drown under the pressure.  We both are working as much overtime as we can while still trying to find the time to be caregivers and juggle school, sports and family time for the kids.  We have always been the ones that everyone can go to when they are down, but there’s no one that we can turn to in return, and it hurts having to admit that we desperately need the help. Any assistance is greatly appreciated, and we hope that things will take a turn for a better soon so that we can continue caring for our loved ones.
